White khabarov Village

White khabarov Village, known as the “First Village in Northwest”, is located in the Tiereketi Town in Habahe County at the northwest corner of China’s territory, which is 117km away from the county, 31 km west of Kanas Lake, 33km south of Naren Grassland, and 38km north of Tiereketi Town. 

The village is divided into three parts of the residence zone of Tuvans, the residence zone of Kazakhs, and the frontier station It is the most concentrated village of Tuvans in Altay Prefecture, and the most complete Tuva village full of Tuva style. 

The village is located in a valley, and the villagers live in simple steeple wooden houses which scatter at the bottom of the valley like stars in the sky, ornamented by the golden birch trees, and poplar trees, etc, and two clear creeks wind around the village. In the northwest across the village, there is the boundary river of China and Kazakhstan, and the high mountains and dense forests in the south. When in autumn, the entire village is bright-colored, just like a color palette; the village is a beautiful painting all year round with the background of the pure white peaks of Altay Mountains.

White khabarov scenic spot has an area of 1,009 km2, and at present, it has been approved as a national forest park by the State Forestry Administration. The forest coverage rate is 70%, containing mainly the tree species of Xinjiang coniferous pine, dahurian larch, spruce, fir, Populus davidiana and white birch. The vegetations are mainly scrub meadow, alpine vegetation, and rocky mountain vegetation, and so on. The area of sunny slopes and intermountain basin is one of the areas that have the most plant species in the temperate steppe zone in China, covered with lush grass and beautiful flowers. The region is rich in fungal species; according to preliminary survey, there are 99 species of fungi, among which, 50 species are edible mushrooms, including Cordyceps sinensis, Ganoderma applanatum, Chinese fir ganoderma lucidum, and other species of high economic value. 

The special original ecological environment around the White khabarov Forest Park provides good conditions for inhabitation and breeding of wild animals. According to the preliminary statistics, there are 39 species of mammals, 4 species of amphibians and reptiles, and 177 species of birds, among which, 27 species are national protected animals, and there are also a variety of first class protected animals, such as Martes zibellina, Wolverine, snow leopard, capra ibex, and black stork.
