2 min readXinyu Economic Development Zone, as a province-level zone, was founded in November 2001. Its planned area is up to 40.125 square kilometers, and the population reaches 110,000. By the end of 2006, overall economic indicators of thezone have ranked Top Three among Jiangxi’s ten key industrial zones. What’s more, it gained the title of Jiangxi Advanced Industrial Zone and the award of Jiangxi Rising Industry in 2005 and 2006 respectively.
Xinyu Economic Development Zone insists the idea of “Project comes first, Customer above all”. With high-level planning, favorable environment and good service, it attracts thousands of investors from home and abroad, such as those from Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, the USA and so on. Now the zone consists of about 150 enterprises.
At present the zone has set up tens of province-level private-owned technology parks, such as Hardware Industrial Park(First, Second and Third Phrases), Feiyu Electrical-speaker Industrial Park, Chunlong Industrial Park, Carpet Industrial Park, Grain Industrial Park and Machinery Technology Park. The enterprises which have settled down here include some leading companies at home, such as Feiyu Electronics, Chunlong Group (reflective material), China Huayuan Carpet Company, Jiangsu Yurun Food Group, Xinhua Stock. Through many years’ development, it has primarily formed six backing industries of electronics (mainly with electrical speakers, DVD, electronic scales), steel deep processing (mainly with aluminum, pre-stressed steel wire strand, steel tapes, stainless steel rolling, steel pipes), mechanical and electrical products processing (mainly with super high-voltage transmission equipment, special vehicles, auto connecting rods, hardware), health(mainly with potassium sorbate, Yurun food, Traditional Chinese Medicine Patent Prescription, troche, capsule), safety garment (mainly with reflective materials, safety products and garments) and carpet (mainly with wall-to-wall carpet, square carpet).
The zone enjoys very convenient transportation.It borders Zhejiang-Jiangxi Railway in the south，meets Shanghai-Ruili Highway in the north.The railway and the highway can lead you to Yangtze River Delta，Pearl River Delta and Fujian Delta.Besides，it is only 208 kilometers away from Changsha to the west，143kilometers away from Nanchang to the east.You can find the Western-Jiangxi Customs，Cormmodity Inspection Bureau and Freight Station in the zone.
Xinyu City，where the zone is located，has abundant mineral resources.Xinyu Iron&Steel Corporation Limited，the key ferroalloy production base in China，yields 1.9 million tons’iron，2.4 million tons’steel，2.2 million tons’steel billet，and0.11 million tons’ferroalloy every year.The textile enterprises，which annuallyproduce cottons yarn and silk ribbon of 16 thousand tons and piece goods of 21 million meters，provide a lot of raw materials.A great deal of limestone，wollastonite，coal，colored metal ores，abundant farm and sideline products are also available to relative enterprises.Xinyu has a good industrial foundation and abundant human resources.There are a large number of skilled workers and professionals，including 200，000 industrialists and 50，000 undergraduate college students in Xinyu’s junior colleges and technical secondary schools.Xinyu has plentiful electric power and water resource，cheap land and labour force.
