Yanmen Pass

This was also one of the key passes in Ming Dynasty，right on the en-trance of Yanmen Gorge 20km northwest of Daixian County，Shanxi Prov-ince.Mountains after mountains surround the pass，with a road through the dark and chiling gorge to the pass city，which was always heavily guarded.

The present pass city was built in 1374.Remains of it are three gates，and the site of the shrine for Li Mu，an excellent general of State of Zhao in Warring States Period.On one of the survived steles is inscribed“Stele of Noble Wu An’s Temple”，a record of Li’s serial victories over the Huns and of Yanmen Pass sill as a key fort in the riot of Ming Dynasty.
