Yiwu

Yiwu is located in central Zhe jiang Province，in a mountainous region，100 kilometers south of Hangzhou City，the capital of Zhe jiang Province.Yiwu has a long history of civilization.It was founded in the Qin Dynasty around 222 BC.Yiwu is part of the greater municipal region of Jinhua.It has under its control 15 towns and 8 villages，with a total land area of 1，105 square kilometers.

Three hundred kilometers away from Shanghai City，Yiwu is the largest market of smallcommodity wholesales in the world where various foreign buyers go to place orders.It has been named as the banner of China’s market economy and with a large variety of quality but cheaper commodities.Yiwu is known as the“sock town”as it produces over three billion pairs of socks annually.It is also known as China’s number one producer of fashion jewellery.

From old times，Yiwu has gained the honor of being the home of culture:Luo Binwang一one of the Four Outstanding Persons in the early Tang Dynasty，and Zong Ze一the famous Anti-Jin General of the Song Dynasty.In modern times，Yiwu has produced educationist Chen Wangdao，historian Wu Han，and so on.
