Zhongnan Baicao Garden is one of the largest natural gardens for sightseeing in the Yangtze River Delta. It is located 3.7 kilometers away from Anji downtown, covering an area of 3,500 mu. The garden has been attracting a great number of visitors from neighbouring cities and regions.

This large garden with the investment of 150 million RMB was open tothe public on May 1st,2004. It was ranked among the “Fifty Top ScenicSpots”in Zhejiang province, and awarded on November 6,2007. Since then Zhongnan Baicao Garden has become one of the most worth visiting gardens. The construction of its follow-up projects, such as the sub-project Theme Park, started on March 10,2010.

Zhongnan Baicao Garden now consists of 4 sections, namely Botanical World, Animal World, Sports World and Happy World. They bring visitors to a large extent the full beauty of life that they can enjoy during the tour of Zhongnan Baicao Garden.

In the Botanical World, tourists can enjoy a large stretch of lawn, hectares of interweaving woods and many kinds of flowers. Plum flowers, peach blossoms, azaleas, cherry blossoms, orchids, wintersweet and many others plants keep the area in fragrance throughout the year. They constitute a tranquil wonderland for visitors. In Labyrinth of Bamboo, the corridor is concealed in bamboo forest, and a piece of wetland in front attracts tourists to explore it further. In addition, tourists can also pay a visit to the High Efficient Ecological Agriculture Demonstration Park in Zhongnan Baicao Garden, which belongs to the first batch of demonstration parks in Zhejiang Province announced by the Agriculture Department of Zhejiang on February 21,2008. Entering the demonstration park visitors must be interested in all kinds of fruit trees and vegetable flowers, such as waxberry, white-tea, mulberry, chestnut, gourd and crops. They are so bright and fresh that give comers a deep impression. About 95 percent area of Botanical World is covered with vegetation and trees, so it can be truly called a natural oxygen bar. It is an ideal ecological environment for people to relax themselves outdoor. Tourists may be so enchanted by the beauty and harmony of nature that they linger on and on.

Tourists will feel the delights of wildness when they come to theAnimal World of Zhongnan Baicao Garden. Many kinds of animals find their shelters and perches in this area including lions, tigers, leopards, brown bears, sun bears, macaques, wild pigs, sika deers, porcupines, ostriches, lesser pandas, swans, sea lions, cranes, red-crowned cranes, peacocks, pheasants, mandarin ducks, vultures, Chinese alligators, and so on. Some animals are running on the ground, some soaring in the sky, some playing leisurely in the water, or looking at each other affectionately. Theharmonious unification of nature and living beings presents the ecologicalbalance that stirs tourists’ inspiration of life sources.
